Our Personal Journey
At Lavendon, we weave personal development through all that we do. This includes our behaviour, inclusion and curriculum strands. Children are taught through our modelling of the behaviour policy to understand and work towards regulating their emotions and behaviours so that they are morally and socially equipped to take their place as responsible citizens in society. Our school values embody both our school ethos and beliefs. We encourage the children to show truth, honesty and behave with integrity. We, as influential caregivers, role model and embed this through restorative practices. We aim to provide students, staff and parents/carers with clearly understood guidelines and strategies to promote positive behaviour and to support students in taking responsibility for their behaviour choices.
The curriculum at Lavendon is designed to support the development of the whole child. We strive to help children understand themselves as individuals and have developed our curriculum to ensure that personal, social and emotional development are being weaved through every child’s learning journey, during their time at our school. Our school ethos embodies the positive behaviours we expect to see in all areas of school life.
We believe that Personal Development should be entwined through the children's daily learning and encompass social, moral, economic, cultural and spiritual strands.
These are some of the ways we weave personal development through our curriculum:
Celebrating successes with house points, stickers and Value Certificates
E-Safety Lessons

Assemblies
At Lavendon, we offer assemblies across the whole school community to reflect our school ethos, current affairs and community needs.
Our school ethos includes an open growth mindset, UN Rights Of The Child, current affairs linked to national and global charity days as well as bespoke awareness days which support our personal journey.
Wellbeing
At Lavendon School, we aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our whole school community (children, staff, parents and carers). It is important we recognise how important mental health and emotional wellbeing is to our lives in just the same way as physical health.
